Examine the following points:

1. Is there a jam in the feeder? Stop the scanner, then restart it to continue feeding sheets. If the paper is still jammed, open the cover and carefully remove the paper.

2. Is the cover open? Make sure the cover is closed.

3. Have you inserted the next original before scanning the previous original? Stop the scanner, then restart it, and try again. Make sure that you scan the next original only after you have finished scanning the previous one.

4. Does the length of the original exceed the maximum acceptable size?
